Subject: Retirement – MPD Sergeant Jonathan P. Ahles
Sergeant Jonathan P. Ahles announced his retirement from the Mansfield
Division of Police effective March 4, 2024.
Sergeant Ahles was appointed to the department on February 11, 1994. Asa
new Patrol Officer, he was assigned to the Community Services Bureau Patrol
Section. In 2002 he went to the Neighborhood Impact Section until his
promotion to Sergeant on February 14, 2005. As a Sergeant he transferred
back to the Neighborhood Impact Section on September 8, 2015, where he
worked throughout the community as a liaison officer to promote community
interactions, and assisted the Neighborhood Watch organizations throughout
the city.
During the course of his career, Sergeant Ahles was a Certified Officer for the
Project Life Savers, a Field Training Officer and Supervisor, and the Supervisor
for the Mansfield Police Cadets.
Sergeant Ahles’ retirement represents a loss to the Mansfield Division of Police,
the citizens of this community and culminates a career that has exemplified the
best qualities of a law enforcement professional. He is known for his hard work,
dedication, initiative and positive attitude toward his work and co-workers.
Throughout his career he has received numerous Special Commendation
Awards, letter of recognition and letters of appreciation from citizens and fellow
law enforcement personnel.
Jon has our congratulations upon his retirement and our heartfelt thanks for
many years of loyal service. We wish him the greatest success and happiness
in the future.
Everyone is invited to a farewell reception for Jon on Thursday, February 29 at
1:00 in the City Council Chambers. Happy retirement and good luck Jon.
