Madison and Mifflin Township fire departments responded to a report of a car colliding with a telephone pole, resulting in a small grass fire. The incident occurred on S. Olivesburg Road between Piper Rd and Annfield Dr. A four-door sedan veered off the roadway, striking a telephone pole with enough force to snap it off at the ground. Fallen live electrical wires ignited a nearby grassy area, prompting firefighters to act promptly and extinguish the flames, preventing any spread to a nearby residential structure. Emergency medical personnel attended to one individual at the scene, though the severity of injuries remains undisclosed. Power is out in this area for some customers. Ohio Edison is on scene.
